Prague's oldest Pilsner Urquell beer restaurant

The U Pinkasù Restaurant is one of the oldest and most famous establishments in Prague, with a history dating back to 1843, when it was founded. It is primarily associated with the tradition of Czech beer and gastronomy. Today, the Restaurant is not only a popular tourist attraction, but also a place where Prague residents like to visit for a proper Czech lunch or the famous Pilsner Urquell. Its history is closely connected with the development of Czech brewing and culture.

The renowned house of ale invites you to experience a pleasant time in the traditional Old Czech restaurant U PINKASU.

In three floors of the "Beer House" U PINKASU you will find various rooms with an unique atmosphere.

In five stylish halls on three storeys, the pleasant outside seating arrangement as well as gothic garden area at the bottom foundations of the Church of Our Lady of the Snow we offer the first class traditionally draft beer Pilsner Urquell and Old Czech specialties chosen from 19th century recipes.

Pinkas Formanka

Ice House and Pinkas Cellar with Gothic and Renaissance foundations offer the services of a classic beer house, unique in Central Europe! Up to 60 guests at a time can try out the traditional specialties of Czech cuisine.

Lower House - Prague Restaurant U Pinkasu

Lower House

The traditional premises of a beer house on the right side of the ground floor, the Lower House, have been preserved almost unchanged as indeed it would be remembered by its past regular guests.

Excellent beer from Pilsner Urquell is served here from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. 

  • The oldest and original premise where Pilsner beer was originally drawn and where members of the Czech National Renaissance Movement gathered

Lawrence's Kitchen - Prague Restaurant U Pinkasu

Lawrence Kitchen

The Lawrence Kitchen on the ground floor, offering quick and affordable lunch meals, is based on the principles of traditional Czech cuisine as well as the principles of a modern healthy diet.

The premises with the capacity of 40 seats are used as a non-smoking beer house which offers a variety of hot meals and beer specialties.

Home - Prague Restaurant U Pinkasu

At home

The restaurant premise called "At home" is situated on the first storey offering Czech traditional meals prepared according to original recipes from the late 19th century. Lunches, dinners and business meetings are accompanied by an unusually homely atmosphere. The total capacity together with the adjacent lounge is 60 seats.

  • situated on the first floor of the restaurant
  • originally the apartment of the previous owners – the Brabec family
  • capacity of 44 table seats and additional 16 table seats in the adjacent lounge 
Upper House - Prague Restaurant U Pinkasu

Upper House

A beer bar, restaurant premises of the Upper House, "Tailor" room and Brabec Lounge, offering 70 seats for guests or the opportunity of holding buffet style events owing to the possibility of interconnecting these rooms. The Brabec Lounge itself is perfect for private parties, whether these are family celebrations or business events

  • Open from 11:30 till 22:30
  • Upper House is the biggest premise with a capacity of 34 seats
  • "Tailor" room with 20 seats - a place, from which Mr. Pinkas carried out business activities that made his living
  • Adjacent "Brabec lounge" with 12 seats

Summer beer garden

This summer sitting area is one of the most peaceful and beautiful gardens in Prague centre. This seasonal part of our restaurant provides an exceptional "genius loci" experience with a garden grill and smokehouse. 

  • A premise in the original, unfinished north wing of the Church of the Lady of the Snows
  • 180 "gothically air-conditioned" seats
  • Lava grill and smokehouse

 

 

Entire capacity offers up to 250 seats. All premises are air-conditioned.
